The mat hardens at a temperature above 150°C through the activation of stored hardener substance within 30 minutes to a thermoset reinforcing element. The mats have excellent acoustic capabilities and take away the own typical sound of the metal plate. The excellent physical sound-damping characteristic is maintained even at high temperatures. The deflection of a 0,75 mm thick, flat body plate, at a constant load is at least halved when using the mats. A similar stiffening effect would also be reached by doubling the modulus of elasticity of the used metal sheet or a metal sheet thickness increase by at least 25%. Where is it used? : AM 400 mats are used preferably for local stiffening of thinwalled sheet metal structures. The mats are used in the automotive area, for example in door lock depositings, the damping of the structure-borne sound in the door panels or as damping in major electronic devices.
