We are one of the biggest Tier 1 Suppliers for automotive plastic components in India and we serve almost all major OEMs. In our New Product Development, we are designing and developing ‘plastic tail gate’ for an OEM. For an optimized design, we are trying different option to bring the total cost down. As a part of process, we are looking into detailed alternatives on reduction of glass assembly costs and assembly time. For the same, we would like to get information and study on the feasibility of glass encapsulation. IF glass could be encapsulated with PVC and through RIM in your factory, we are interested to get more information about you . We have few queries 1. Is glass encapsulation and Injection molding with ‘glass insert’ are same? Could you please share some thought on this? 2. Can we make glass with PP encapsulated around? 3. Is it is possible to load the mold in normal injection molding machine. Can you give information of any special machineries and approximate cost(this is for our total costing purpose).
